Unable to start instance manually after changing schedule

We have a 1511 S/4HANA OP FPS01 instance, running with a daily start/stop schedule. After correcting the Time Zone information, the scheduling stated that the instance was set to activate only at next day start time. No option was given to activate immediately.

 

Then we changed the scheduling option to manual.  Although the change was accepted, the activate option on the Instance screen is still grayed out.

 

Any suggestions on how to correct this situation?
