I have tried with same combination which you have used (Windows 7 and Excel 2010) it works fine for me.
Uninstall the older version and install the new version of AO 2.2 instead of upgrading.
Sometime excel will run in background even if you close in that case won't be able launch the Analysis office.Go to Task panel and kill the background running process and try to launch.
Also check the Analysis Addin is disabled or not in the following path
File->options->Addins->Manage->Disabled items->Go If it is disabled,select Analysis and click on Enable.
